VP, Human Resources Job Summary
Provide strategic oversight of enterprise-wide Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Equity Administration, and HR Data & Reporting functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the Total Rewards strategy. Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the HR team to deliver service excellence, operational accuracy, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across all HR operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
Manage core HR Operations functions and managers, including Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, and Data & Reporting
Establish operational excellence, service standards, and continuous improvement within HR operations
Prepare and maintain operational expense and salary budget for the HR and Operations departments
Work with HR Managers to develop, implement and maintain personnel policies and procedures, including review and guidance on the employee handbook
Assist the SVP, Chief Human Resources & Operations Officer and HR team with special projects as needed
Benefits Focus
Lead the design, implementation and governance of comprehensive employee benefit programs, including health, welfare, retirement and wellness offerings
Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to evaluate and optimize benefit offerings, ensuring market competitiveness, cost effectiveness and employee engagement
Manage vendor selection, broker relationships and benefit administration partners
Ensure compliance with all applicable benefits-related regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA
Oversee benefit audits, reporting and documentation
Payroll Focus
Provide oversight of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations
Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of payroll controls, systems, and processes to support operational efficiency and audit readiness
Compensation and Equity Focus
Ensure compensation policies and structure are in compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Ensure that base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs remain competitive and align with the compensation philosophy
Lead and oversee the annual compensation cycle, including planning, execution and communication of annual salary increases and short-term incentive programs; ensure alignment with organizational goals, internal equity, and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
Lead administration and governance of long-term incentive plans, partnering with Finance, Legal and external administrators to ensure compliance with equity plan rules, regulations and reporting requirements
Oversee equity grant processes, vesting schedules, and transaction administration with equity administrator and internal stakeholders
Support SEC reporting and audit documentation, including Proxy, CD&A, Form 10-K and related disclosures
HR Data & Reporting Focus
Provide executive-level reporting and analytics on utilization and program impact in areas of responsibility, using data insights to drive improvements in total rewards strategies and workforce engagement
Oversee the optimization of HR systems and tools to meet business requirements, creating opportunities for automation and reducing manual system efforts while improving accuracy and consistency
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive functional knowledge of principles and practices of various areas of Human Resources to include compensation, benefits, payroll, equity administration and HR operations
Expertise in employee benefits laws and compliance (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA)
Strong understanding of payroll tax rules, wage & hour laws, multi-state compliance
Experience with equity compensation plans and administration systems
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence, and mentor staff
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid customer service and relationship building skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and planning workload effectively
Ability to manage change, ambiguity, delays, and unexpected events with flexibility and sound judgment
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information effectively
High attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness while consistently monitoring work to ensure quality
Solid conflict management skills

Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 10 years of Human Resources experience required
Minimum five years management experience required
SPHR/PHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred
