Senior Infrastructure Automation EngineerRemote - Michigan, United StatesPosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable cloud-based platforms. This role requires deep expertise in automation, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of cloud technologies.Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable cloud platforms using infrastructure-as-code principles. Develop and implement automation strategies for platform provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operations. Drive continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure, focusing on efficiency, security, and cost optimization. Collaborate with development teams to ensure platform capabilities meet application requirements and best practices. Act as a subject matter expert on cloud technologies and automation, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Present complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our platform capabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues, ensuring high availability and performance. RequirementsProven expertise in designing and implementing automation solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar. In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform including their core services (compute, networking, storage, databases). Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical information effectively to diverse audiences. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and methodologies. Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Nice to Have Certifications in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect). Experience with site reliability engineering (SRE) principles. Familiarity with various database technologies (relational and NoSQL).
