[Remote] Legal Content Development Associate

The role involves managing publications, collaborating with authors, and developing new legal content assets to meet industry standards.ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of designated publications, available both online and in printCollaborate and follow-up with authors to ensure timely delivery of manuscript according to our publishing scheduleReview manuscripts to make sure they adhere to our author guidelines and provide feedback to authorsIdentify and develop new English-language legal content assets required for various product lines, including LexisNexis Canada’s print, eBooks, and our online research service, Lexis Advance Quicklaw™Recruit new authors and proceed to author replacement for publications within your portfolioAssess financial viability of new content proposals to determine whether they should be pursuedDraft and negotiate publishing contractsIdentify, organize and develop content improvementsBuild and maintain good public relations with the legal community, including practitioners, academics, members of the judiciary, librarians, market research contacts, and other external customersWork with Marketing and Sales departments to build 'go-to-market' strategiesAct as a resource person for authors and our different departments for publications within your portfolioSkillsA Canadian law degree, or a law degree from another jurisdiction with a Certificate of Qualification from Canada's National Committee on AccreditationAt least 1 year's practice/articling or legal publishing experienceExcellent organizational skills and keen attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines for print, online and newsletter releasesStrong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of cross-departmental project teamsExcellent communication (oral and written) and negotiation skillsExperience operating with AI as a standard part of workflows, including demonstrated hands-on experience using LLMs and AI-enabled tools daily to support content and analysis; iterating prompts to improve output quality and consistencyKnowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suiteBenefitsHealth plan benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramRetirement BenefitsVarious Leave ProgramsEducational AssistanceDisability, Life and Accidental Death InsurancePaid VacationUp to two days of paid leave each to participate in Employee Resource Groups and to volunteer with your charity of choiceCompany OverviewLexisNexis is a data analytics company that provides information solutions and law legal databases to Law and corporate businesses.
