Position Overview
Southern Company is seeking a professional Elevate Program Host to support delivery of the Elevate system-wide leadership development program.
This role serves as the operational host for instructor-led Elevate classes, ensuring a consistent, safe, and inclusive virtual learning experience for participants across Southern Company.
The Host is responsible for:
β’ Opening and closing sessions using approved scripts
β’ Managing attendance and session logistics
β’ Supporting instructors and participants
β’ Reinforcing Southern Company values throughout the learning experience
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in training coordination, virtual meeting production, learning & development support, HR coordination, or administrative support roles.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Host assigned Elevate classes delivered virtually
β’ Remain present and engaged for the full duration of each assigned session
β’ Join sessions 15β30 minutes early to prepare logistics and connect with instructors
β’ Deliver required opening and closing remarks, including:
β’ Welcome and Separation Protocol
β’ Safety Moment
β’ Intentional Inclusion Moment
β’ Introduce instructors and ensure smooth session transitions
β’ Track attendance and follow up with no-shows as needed
β’ Submit completed attendance documentation within 24 hours
β’ Serve as primary point of contact for instructors and participants during sessions
β’ Provide chat support and assist with virtual session logistics
β’ Coordinate collection and monthly distribution of participant post-session survey data
β’ Share survey links or QR codes and complete required Host feedback surveys
β’ Provide timely and actionable feedback on course content and facilitator delivery
β’ Manage start/end session recordings (for designated courses) in alignment with Elevate guidelines
β’ Perform other related administrative support activities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
β’ Strong verbal communication and professional presence
β’ Ability to confidently deliver scripted content
β’ High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
β’ Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and virtual meeting platforms
β’ Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive participant experience
β’ Strong commitment to confidentiality and compliance with separation protocols
Required Qualifications
β’ 1β3 years of experience in roles such as:
β’ Training Coordinator
β’ Virtual Meeting Producer
β’ Learning & Development Support
β’ HR Coordinator
β’ Administrative Support
β’ Experience hosting or producing virtual sessions (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
β’ Experience supporting training sessions, meetings, or facilitated events
β’ Availability to host multiple sessions throughout the year
β’ Reliable technology and high-speed internet access for virtual sessions
Education
β’ Some college, Associate degree, or Bachelorβs degree preferred (not required)
β’ Equivalent experience in training support or administrative roles will be considered
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
