Sr Linux System Engineer- 100% remote / can work on site in New York, NY
Our client is seeking a classical Sr Linux System Engineer for the design and build out of classical Linux OS infrastructure (60%) with Automation tools. Ideal candidates will have design and buildout experience of traditional Linux/Unix environments with good Automation tool experience for a hybrid environment with 40% on premise cloud. * You must be our W2 employee β we cannot sponsor Visaβs This can be 100% remote or a mix of onsite as well based on your preference or where you reside. Responsibilities β’ Design, Install, Configure, and Manage Linux environments. β’ Strong Administration of Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux operating system and various Linux OS β’ Create, Manage, and Apply automation for deployment and configuration β’ Provision server build out within virtualization such as SAN β’ Assist with WebLogic, Tomcat and JBoss installation and administration when necessary β’ Assist in planning, installing and administration of Disaster Recovery for Linux servers β’ Ensure all Unix/Linux based servers are adhering to change control and are audited β’ Understand and able to configure Postfix, DNS/bind/named, NTPD, SSH, LVM, multipath, Samba/CIFS β’ Ensure quarterly server patching β’ Maintaining documentation and diagrams for both daily operations and Disaster Recovery β’ Assist Backup Administrator with Unix/Linux backups using Commvault β’ Create, update and follow SOPs and other documentation (ex. Change and configuration management.) β’ Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Must Have) β’ Design experience10+ YRS Build and implementation experience. β’ 5 β 10 years administrative experience with Linux Red Hat preferred +, Other Linux distribution) β’ 1 year minimum with automation (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, etc) β’ Five (5) years of systems-level scripting/programming experience (bash, Korn, KSH, perl, python, C, etc) β’ Three (3) years of experience VMware Virtualization administration experience β’ Must be a team player with appropriate corporate conduct β’ A solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, sockets and experience w/ using utilities such as nmap, tcpdump, snoop and Wireshark. β’ Understanding of PKI β’ Some networking experience with a focus on Cisco hardware a plus β’ Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ β’ Benefits if you reside in GA or California only Health, Dental, Vision, 401K Apply To this Job Apply To This Job Apply To this Job
