The Sr. Legal Counsel’s role will focus on project contracts – including EPC contracts, equipment supply contracts, BESS Integrator contracts, long-term service contracts, warranties, and performance guarantees – but will also include a variety of other matters. The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively provide sound legal advice, exercise good business judgment, and work with senior management, outside counsel and customers.Responsibilities:Provide legal advice on construction, corporate and commercial law matters in support of the energy storage business unit in the United StatesNegotiate and draft EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, subcontractor agreements, long-term services agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, product warranties, performance guarantees and various other contractsAssist with all aspects of project management and project execution, including drafting legal notices, changing orders, interpreting contract language and providing strategic and business-oriented adviceLitigation and dispute resolution management as neededMaintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders—including customers, vendors, EPCs, and utilitiesCoordinate and supervise outside counsel with a view to balancing legal costs with business goalsRequired Qualifications and Skills:Strong academic credentials and licensed to practice law in the United States.At least 5 years' of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction and infrastructure contracts at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal departmentExperience working in the energy industry (ideally in renewable energy and/or energy storage) is preferredIn-depth understanding of United States renewable energy incentives (IRA tax credits) and compliance regulations (OBBBA)Knowledge of anti-dumping/countervailing duties (AD/CVD), tariffs generally, OFAC, CFIUS, UFLPA and other trade-related and regulatory matters of import to the businessExperience and willingness to lead negotiations of complex commercial contractsWillingness and ability to travel up to 5–15% of the timee-STORAGE is Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
