Senior Software Engineer, Backend, Shield

About the Role As a Software Engineer in the Shield team, you will be part of a multidisciplinary group focused on building security solutions that protect and strengthen VTEX’s platform. The team works across different contexts — from critical core flows such as checkout to premium customer-specific features — always with a strong focus on security, performance, and resilience.In this role, you will investigate and solve complex problems related to networks, traffic, and distributed systems, while also collaborating with product, engineering, and even directly with customers when needed. You’ll have the freedom to explore systems in depth, identify vulnerabilities, and propose scalable solutions. Who You Are You have solid knowledge in software engineering and distributed systems architecture. Interest in information security, networks, monitoring, and observability. Ability to debug and explore complex and high-performance systems. Flexibility and adaptability to handle fast-changing priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical topics for different audiences. An investigative and curious mindset, with a focus on solving complex problems. Autonomy and ownership, with the ability to break down large problems into smaller, actionable steps.
