Senior Project Developer, Renewable Energy - New York Region (Remote with Travel)

The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage. As a Senior Project Developer, you'll take the reins on early-stage renewable energy projects - guiding them from concept to construction-ready. You'll be the driving force behind project success, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
Responsibilities
• Lead the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across New York State, Pennsylvania, Illinois and other states to be identified in the future.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from inception through permitting and interconnection.
• Navigate the New York Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission (ORES) permitting process and coordinate with NYISO on interconnection strategy and execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local communities, and regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with internal teams on financial modeling, project economics, and risk analysis.
• Prepare and respond to RFPs, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.
• Represent the company at public meetings, stakeholder engagements, and industry events.
• Serve as the local face of the company, ensuring transparency, trust, and community alignment.
Requirements
• Hands-on experience with ORES permitting in New York.
• Strong knowledge of NYISO interconnection processes and regulatory frameworks.
• A proven track record of developing and managing project budgets and schedules.
• Familiarity with financial modeling and project economics.
• A network within the New York renewable energy market.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating across remote teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, preferably in New York State.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel frequently across New York State.
