They are seeking a creative and strategically minded UX/UI Designer to enhance their employer brand and improve the candidate and employee experience across digital platforms.ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize digital experiences for career sites, internal portals, recruitment campaigns, onboarding platforms, and volunteer web experiencesMaintain and develop the Volunteer Website in WordPress, creating engaging, informative pages and integrating with other systems where necessaryCollaborate with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and People teams to craft compelling candidate and employee journeys aligned with Mercy Ships’ mission and brandDevelop wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate our talent storyApply UX research and data insights to refine content strategy, navigation, accessibility, and conversion pathwaysSupport the visual design of career-related social media posts, email campaigns, and employer brand assetsMaintain and evolve the employer brand design system, ensuring visual and experiential consistency across platformsContribute to the development of inclusive, accessible digital experiences that reflect our values and cultureEnsure all digital touchpoints align with Mercy Ships’ Core Values, Code of Conduct, and policiesFollow the model of Jesus and align with our core values by Loving God; Loving and Serving Others; Being a Person of Integrity; and a Person of Excellence in all you say and doOther duties may be assigned that are not included in this job descriptionSkillsDemonstrates strong creative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate brand vision into engaging digital experiencesPossesses a deep understanding of UX principles, responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user-centered design methodologyStrong portfolio showcasing web, mobile, and brand-focused design projectsAdvanced WordPress skills with working knowledge of HTML/CSS and CMS platformsProficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Webflow, or similar design platformsExperience integrating websites with systems such as Salesforce and Pardot to enhance user experienceAbility to communicate design rationale clearly and influence cross-functional stakeholdersStrong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across departments and culturesPassion for storytelling, people-centric design, and building purpose-driven brand experiencesSupportive of Mercy Ships' mission and vision and committed to its core valuesUnderstands and applies servant leadership, works collaboratively with integrity, and demonstrates accountabilityBachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, Marketing, Website Development or a related field preferredMinimum of 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, product design, visual design, digital experience design, or website developmentExperience working on career websites, ATS integrations, recruitment marketing, or employer branding initiativesFamiliarity with content strategy, SEO principles, and performance analytics toolsCompany OverviewMercy Ships is a global charity operating a fleet of hospital ships in developing nations.
