The Technical Account Manager role focuses on helping strategic customers achieve measurable business value from logistics platforms by providing technical support and fostering strong relationships with clients.ResponsibilitiesDrive clear operational improvements and ROI through strong adoption of 3G TMS and MacroPointProactively manage risk, align solutions to customer goals, and ensure customers are set up for long-term success and renewalIdentify usage gaps, optimize workflows, and guide customers toward best practices that improve how they operateBuild strong relationships with both business and technical stakeholdersLead meaningful conversations with decision-makers, operators, and IT teamsAlign integrations, workflows, and technical initiatives to broader customer strategy and go-to-market goalsBring informed, practical feedback to Product and internal teamsUnderstand the freight tech ecosystem and contribute to decisions around integrations and platform directionSkills3+ years in Technical Account Management, Customer Success, Solutions Consulting, or similar rolesExperience in logistics, supply chain, or SaaS environments strongly preferredExperience working with enterprise or mid-market customersBackground in transportation, freight operations, or logistics technology is a strong advantageYou understand freight from the inside—not just conceptually, but operationallyYou know how brokers, 3PLs, and shippers make moneyYou understand why TMS and integrations matterYou have opinions on what makes a strong logistics tech ecosystemYou're comfortable in technical conversations and can connect systems to outcomesExperience with TMS platforms (3G preferred) or similar logistics technologyFamiliarity with APIs, EDI, integrations, and system workflowsAbility to troubleshoot and guide customers toward effective solutionsYou can build trust and lead conversations with a wide range of stakeholdersStrong presentation and communication skillsAbility to engage both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience leading customer meetings, training, or business reviewsYou connect technical work to business impactProven ability to align technical initiatives with business outcomesAbility to identify growth opportunities within existing accountsStrong understanding of customer goals and operational driversYou know how to get things done across teamsExperience working with Product, Sales, Support, and ImplementationAbility to communicate customer needs clearly and drive internal alignmentYou don't wait for direction—you create itSelf-starter with strong accountability and follow-throughComfortable working in ambiguity and driving outcomesMotivated by impact, not just activityBenefitsCommissionCompetitive compensationGreat benefitsRemote and flexible work hoursOpportunity to join a company on an awesome mission with a great existing team and trajectoryWork-life balanceEnvironment with the space to take ownership, to be heard, and to carve a path for your individual accomplishments to help drive our successCompany OverviewDescartes provides cloud-based logistics and supply chain management solutions to improve productivity for businesses.
