The Senior Survey Data Processor leads onboard data processing efforts for offshore hydrographic and geophysical survey projects, focusing on high-level data analysis, quality control, and workflow optimization while mentoring junior staff.ResponsibilitiesLead safe work practices offshore and ensure compliance during all data processing activitiesCoordinate closely with captains, crew, Party Chiefs, and project managers on daily project objectivesLead all onboard processing efforts, including advanced analysis of multibeam, backscatter, side scan, single‑beam, sub‑bottom, and positioning dataPerform high‑level GPS and inertial sensor calibration validationInterpret complex datasets and develop technical insights for clients and project teamsProduce final‑quality processed data, charts, maps, and detailed technical reportsAdvise on acquisition strategies based on processing results and field conditionsOversee all quality assurance processes for raw and processed dataEnsure full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and best practicesManage complete backups, data archiving, and final data transfersLead troubleshooting for complex software, equipment, or data-related issuesOversee maintenance, calibration checks, mobilization, and demobilization of survey systemsEnsure survey gear readiness and proper inventory of spare partsServe as the primary processing point of contact for clients, Party Chiefs, and project managersPrepare comprehensive daily reporting and detailed technical summaries of data findingsCommunicate risks, issues, and corrective recommendations clearly and professionallyTrain and mentor Processors I and II in advanced workflows and best practicesGuide the development of standardized processing procedures and continuous improvement initiativesProvide onshore technical review or processing support as requiredPerforms additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectivesSkillsFive plus years' experience in the Survey or Geoscience industry as a Survey ProfessionalAdvanced proficiency in hydrographic and geophysical processing software and workflowsExtensive experience processing multibeam, side scan, sub‑bottom, magnetometer, and positioning datasetsStrong leadership, communication, and mentoring skillsProven ability to solve complex data issues and guide operational decisionsSignificant offshore survey processing experience requiredKnowledge of GPS and motion reference positioning systems, calibration techniques and data processingMust have knowledge of basic computer skillsMust have or be able to obtain TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other reginally madated offshore work requirement documents as appropriateHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) requiredTwo-year Technical Degree or higher in field of study preferredBachelor's Degree or equivalent desiredCurrent security clearance or ability to obtain security clearanceBenefitsHealth and WellnessMental HealthRetirement SavingsLife and DisabilityPaid Maternity and Parental LeavePaid Time OffTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramCompany OverviewOceaneering is a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry.
