Our client, a boutique financial advisory and consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to multiple clientsâranging from high-growth startups to established mid-market companiesâdelivering advanced accounting insights, financial analysis, and process improvements. You will work closely with Controllers, Fractional CFOs, and client leadership to perform technical accounting functions, oversee month-end close processes, prepare financial reports, and provide consultative recommendations that enhance business performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in public accounting or financial consulting, thrives in a client-service environment, and brings an analytical, solutions-focused mindset to every engagement. This role offers the opportunity to expand into higher-level client advisory responsibilities and provides a clear path to Controller and Fractional CFO career progression.
Senior Accountant (Public Accounting or Consulting exp. req.) Responsibilities
⢠Lead and manage detailed accounting reviews across multiple client engagements
⢠Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
⢠Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
⢠Advise clients on accounting treatment for complex transactions
⢠Identify process gaps and recommend/implement improved accounting controls and procedures
⢠Manage reconciliations of accounts, payroll, and intercompany activity
⢠Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling initiatives for clients
⢠Act as a client-facing consultant, delivering insights that improve financial operations and decision-making
Senior Accountant (Public Accounting or Consulting exp. req.) Qualifications
⢠Bachelor's Degree required
⢠5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting or financial consulting required
⢠Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Modeling, etc.) required
⢠Experience managing multiple clients or projects in an accounting environment required
