[Remote] Senior Research Analyst Education Remote

The Senior Research Analyst will provide analytical support for research and data initiatives, contributing to various programs and tools aimed at enhancing legal education's value.ResponsibilitiesActively contribute to the Company’s research agenda to further empirical understanding of law school access, affordability, academic and bar success, and the value of legal education; assist in implementing tactics associated with the Company’s Strategic PlanAssist in the administration and evaluation of the LexScholars Pre-Law and Post-Baccalaureate law school pathway programs, including but not limited to processing program applications, entering applicant and participant data, and maintaining related databasesConduct qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods, including but not limited to survey development, in-depth interviews, focus groups, regression modeling, and other statistical techniquesProduce compelling and easily interpretable tables and graphical displays of statistical results for a variety of audiencesOrganize, structure and clean data to permit for use to perform research and policy analysisAdvise and assist colleagues and external stakeholders with research design, data analysis, data interpretation, and identifying and navigating higher education data sourcesDesign and conduct quality control procedures for data collection, analyses, reports and the Company’s data tools; produce technical reports describing procedures, data collection, and/or research resultsCommunicate findings to policy and practitioner audiences in succinct briefs, white papers and reports through cogent prose and graphical modelingPresent, with approval from supervisor and as needed, at professional conferences; represent the Center at relevant industry conferences and eventsAssist in the development and maintenance of a repository of research evidence and data (e.g., the AccessLex Resource Collections) based on internal and external sources that can support the Company’s research objectives, specifically, and those of legal education more generallyOther duties as assignedSkillsPassion for advancing access, affordability, and value in legal educationAbility to self-organize—to manage and set deadlines independently to balance multiple deliverables and ensure their timely completionExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate and respond to challengesSuperior attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong evaluation, mathematical, and analytical skillsKnowledge (acquired through experience or coursework) of evaluation methodologies, both qualitative and quantitativeProficiency in R Studio, STATA, or another statistical programExperience translating statistical terms and methodologies to lay audiencesExperience writing and presenting research reports; ability to write components of technical reports independentlyProficiency in R StudioBachelor's degree in education, statistics, economics, sociology, political science or related field AND minimum 4 years of related experience in a similar role; ORGraduate degree AND minimum 1 year of related experiencePublic speaking and presentation skillsKnowledge of program evaluation theory and/or methods; experience conducting program evaluationKnowledge of higher education or legal education data sources, data definitions and limitationsProficiency in NVivo or another qualitative coding software programKnowledge of diversity pathway programmingExperience publishing and presenting original researchExperience working in higher educationCompany OverviewAccessLex Institute is a nonprofit organization committed to helping talented, purpose-driven students find their path from aspiring lawyer.
