[Remote] Senior Cloud Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for the design, deployment, management, security, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring compliance and collaboration across teams.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the design, build, implementation, and delivery of scalable, secure cloud and network solutionsResponsible for identifying and implementing the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the companyReview and manage technical requirements and business functional requirements to establish new cloud platforms and infrastructures managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelinesDevelop and execute assessment, migration and implementation plans to deploy Azure infrastructures and move workloads to AzureInstalling, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting network equipment including routers, firewalls, switches, virtual appliances, load balances, UPSs, WAPs, DNS and DHCPCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the requirement and design solutions that meet business needsConfiguration/Optimization of security center – including but not limited to Azure Sentinel, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Identity, e-discovery, vulnerability management, endpoint security, auto-remediationSecurity monitoring including but not limited to log aggregation, correlation, alerting of incidents and events to resolutionConducting periodic audits and reviews as neededPerform daily administration and management of the company’s various backend software systems including but not limited to Business Continuity (backup & replication), Intune, MS SCCM/SCOM, Hyper-V, RDS, and O365Communicate effectively with team members, stake holders, and management to provide status updates, gather requirements, and present technical solutionsDeploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycleMonitoring system performance, resource utilization, and cost metricsTroubleshoot infrastructure related incidents and provide timely resolutionsConduct root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventative measuresMaintain documentation and runbooks for troubleshooting issues and proceduresIdentify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction and implement strategies to improve efficienciesConfigure IAM roles and policies, encryption mechanisms, network security and access controlsEmploying exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problemsIdentify areas for innovation and propose new technologies or approaches to enhance the infrastructure and development processesBuilding and designing web services in the cloud, along with implementing the set-up of geographically redundant servicesEnsuring 24/7 uptime of all infrastructure within controlOrchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the companyEducating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as requiredShare knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions and documentationMentor engineers and provide guidance on best practicesStay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excelSkillsBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent relative experience5 years of demonstrated IT experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise level, mission-critical applications resolving complex issues and driving technical resolutions across the organizationThree to five years' experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related positionExperience working with multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware, including Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022 requiredExperience setting up, maintain and testing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for a variety of technology servicesDemonstrated Azure deployment experienceSecurity first mindsetKnowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC a plusKnowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, WWAN, DHCP, DNS, and other networking conceptsStrong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networksMust be a self-starter and work in an integrated team-based environmentExcellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspaceGrowth Mindset with an openness and ability to learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced
