As an Input Device System Design Engineer , you will play a crucial role in creating cutting-edge devices such as mice, trackpads, keyboards, and remotes that are both functional and intuitive. As a world-class electrical engineer, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, implement, integrate, and qualify Human Interface Devices that exceed user expectations. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the development of state-of-the-art sensing and haptic technologies that will take HCI to the next level. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of next-generation HCI hardware, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to high-volume production. Assess project risk and maturity levels, performing tasks such as characterization, validation, and debugging across all development builds to ensure timely and successful project execution. Apply state-of-the-art sensing and haptic technologies to design innovative human interface devices that are both functional and user-friendly. Author detailed engineering requirements specifications to guide the development process and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned. Design and manage the electrical system, including power management, micro-controller, wireless communication, sensor integration, and component selection, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure smooth production and resolve any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process. Interface with and present to cross-functional leaders for project reviews and discussions, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns or questions. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A BS or above degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Working knowledge of board/system level electrical designs with micro-controller and hands-on experience in prototype design, bring-up, debugging, characterization, and functional verification. Familiarity with common interfaces such as I2C, SPI, JTAG, and USB, as well as system-level design principles. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications To stand out in this role, you will ideally have: A successful track record of working closely with mechanical engineers and firmware teams to drive projects forward. Experience in DC-DC converter design and application, including buck and boost configurations. Experience in sensor selection and integration at the system level, including capacitive, optical, resistive, or other types of sensors. A proven track record of designing high-volume, high-quality consumer electronic products that meet or exceed user expectations. Experience in data analysis and scripting languages to drive data-driven decision-making.
