[Remote] Senior Business Development Manager

The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for advancing late-stage commercial opportunities, focusing on contract execution and cross-functional coordination to move complex deals forward.ResponsibilitiesDrive progress on late-stage commercial opportunities once prospects are engaged, including NDAs, LOIs, and definitive agreementsCoordinate contract development and execution in partnership with internal legal teams and external counselTrack deal milestones, dependencies, and open items to ensure steady forward progressSupport negotiations and help resolve gaps between commercial intent and executable agreementsCoordinate state-level engagement and regulatory touchpoints in partnership with Regulatory Affairs and Permitting teamsTrack and manage state-specific requirements, timelines, and approvals that impact commercial executionSupport alignment between commercial agreements and licensing, permitting, and regulatory pathwaysOrganize and track opportunities with DOE, DOD, national laboratories, and other government or institutional partnersMaintain calendars, deadlines, and submission requirements for government-related opportunitiesCoordinate inputs across internal teams to support timely and complete submissionsWork closely with Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Permitting and Licensing, Project Management, and Project Finance to align commercial terms with project execution realitiesServe as a connective point between commercial objectives and operational deliveryEnsure information flows smoothly across teams and that decisions are well-documented and followed throughSkills5–10 years of experience in commercial roles within energy, infrastructure, or related capital-intensive industriesHands-on experience negotiating and executing complex contracts and commercial agreementsStrong understanding of deal processes from engagement through executionDemonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and move work forward without direct authorityExcellent organizational skills and follow-through in long-cycle, ambiguous environmentsExperience working with federal entities such as DOE, DOD, national laboratories, or similar government partnersFamiliarity with state engagement, permitting, or licensing processesExposure to renewable PPAs, thermal assets, or infrastructure project developmentNuclear industry experience is a plus, but not requiredCompany OverviewDeep Fission is transforming the energy landscape by installing modular nuclear power reactors a mile deep.
