[Remote] Senior Applied AI Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI applications that solve real business problems and enhance operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy production-ready AI applications powered by large language models and agentic workflowsBuild intelligent systems using techniques such as RAG, tool calling, task orchestration, and multi-agent architecturesEvaluate, integrate, and optimise frontier and open-source models, balancing performance, latency, and cost considerationsDevelop robust evaluation frameworks to benchmark AI systems, detect regressions, and maintain production quality standardsPartner closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to identify high-value AI opportunities and deliver measurable outcomesBuild scalable backend services and APIs that enable the integration of AI capabilities into customer and internal productsChampion modern AI engineering practices and help teams improve their productivity through AI-assisted development workflowsMentor engineers and contribute to establishing best practices for the development and operation of AI systemsSkills5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production environmentsDemonstrated track record of shipping AI products that deliver measurable business impact, rather than purely experimental or research initiativesStrong experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent-based architecturesHands-on experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or similar technologiesExcellent Python engineering skills with the ability to build scalable, maintainable backend systemsExperience building end-to-end AI applications, from problem definition through deployment and ongoing optimisationFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools and coding agents that accelerate software delivery (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex)Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently within fast-paced environmentsExperience applying AI within regulated, security-sensitive, or financial environmentsExposure to model fine-tuning techniques, including parameter-efficient adaptation approachesContributions to open-source projects, technical communities, or published thought leadership related to AI engineeringPrevious experience within AI-native organisations or advanced engineering teams focused on large-scale AI adoptionCompany OverviewFor nearly a decade, Discovered has operated at the centre of the region’s technology ecosystem.
