They are seeking a Principal Generative AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade LLM-powered systems, focusing on scalable generative AI capabilities for internal tools and customer-facing products.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement LLM-powered applications supporting internal workflows and customer-facing featuresBuild and optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines grounded in proprietary documentation and structured dataDevelop agent-based and workflow-driven systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, ADK, or similarDevelop and fine-tune AI models to support autonomous agent workflows and business applicationsImplement prompt strategies, tool-calling workflows, and structured output generationContribute to shared AI infrastructure including embeddings, vector search, evaluation tooling, caching, and monitoringPartner with DevOps and platform teams to deploy scalable services in AWSMeasure system performance using telemetry, experimentation, and user feedbackSkills5–8+ years of software engineering experience2+ years building and deploying LLM-powered or RAG-based systems in productionExperience fine-tuning and optimizing large language models (LLMs) and domain-specific AI models using supervised fine-tuning (SFT), reinforcement learning techniques, and parameter-efficient methods (e.g., LoRA, QLoRA) to improve accuracy, reasoning, and task-specific performance for agentic AI applicationsHands-on experience with embeddings, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS), and retrieval pipelinesExperience building agent workflows and integrating LLM APIsProficiency in Python or TypeScriptExperience deploying systems in AWS environmentsStrong debugging and systems thinking skillsExperience implementing evaluation frameworks (e.g., LangSmith)Experience optimizing latency and token costExposure to regulated industries (fintech, tax, healthcare)Experience fine-tuning or adapting open-weight LLMsCompany OverviewTaxwell is a digital tax filing platform that offers tax preparation software solutions.
