[Remote] Portfolio Operations Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Legalist is a tech-enabled alternative asset manager specializing in uncorrelated legal and government-payment assets. The Portfolio Operations Specialist will support the Litigation Finance Portfolio Monitoring team through legal research, case analysis, and portfolio monitoring, working closely with attorneys and investment professionals to track investments in litigation.ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze legal documents, case filings, and supporting materials to inform underwriting and portfolio monitoringConduct legal, factual, and background research, including identifying analogous cases and relevant developmentsSupport due diligence efforts by evaluating counterparties, legal claims, and associated risksOrganize, index, and maintain case files, investment documentation, and internal recordsTrack key case developments, deadlines, and portfolio performance across active mattersDraft clear and concise summaries, memoranda, and internal reports on legal and investment findingsCollaborate cross-functionally with legal, underwriting, operations, and technology teamsContribute to process improvements, workflow management, and data organization across the portfolioProvide general support on special projects related to legal analysis, compliance, and investment operationsSkillsBachelor's degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)3–5+ years of relevant experience, such as: Paralegal experience at an AmLaw 200 or comparable firm, Legal research, compliance, investigations, or litigation support rolesProficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and WestlawStrong analytical, research, and writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex legal and financial informationExperience reviewing legal documents and managing case-related workflowsHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and document management skillsAbility to communicate complex concepts clearly, both written and verballyComfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting prioritiesAbility to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teamsExposure to financial analysis, underwriting, or investment-related workFamiliarity with litigation finance, credit investing, or legal risk assessmentExperience drafting memoranda or case summaries for decision-making purposesCompany OverviewLegalist is an institutional alternative asset management firm.
