[Remote] Mechanical Design Engineer – Integration Solutions

Engineering Search Firm Inc. is seeking an innovative, solutions-driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Integration Solutions team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing conveyor systems and other material handling equipment while collaborating with various departments to ensure successful project delivery.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop conveyor systems, in-plant lifts, and custom material handling equipmentCreate and release manufacturing drawings and documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCADPrepare approval drawings, layouts, and cost estimates to support sales activitiesGenerate quotation numbers, maintain project data, and assist in proposal developmentCreate, maintain, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the Visual MRP systemDevelop RFQs, analyze supplier quotations, and support procurement activitiesCoordinate engineering changes and production releases, including:Managing change ordersTracking cost impacts and schedule changesCommunicating updates with customers and internal stakeholdersPerform engineering calculations, analyses, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product manufacturability and production efficiencyAssist in the development of fixtures, tooling, work instructions, and process documentationSupport prototype assembly, testing, and validation activities while incorporating lessons learned into final product designsLead product rationalization initiatives, including BOM optimization and reduction of equipment and tooling requirementsMaintain project records, lessons learned, and continuous improvement recommendationsWork closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure design requirements are achieved during manufacturingTrack project progress, priorities, and resource allocation using project management software (LiquidPlanner)Travel as required to support project execution, manufacturing operations, customer installations, and business needsPerform other duties as assignedSkillsMust be a citizen of The United States, and have a valid US PassportExperience range: 3 to 7 yearsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExperience with SolidWorks and AutoCADKnowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical design principles, and material handling equipmentExperience with BOM management and engineering documentationFamiliarity with FEA and engineering calculationsExcellent communication and project coordination skillsAbility to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsCommitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality engineering solutionsCandidates preferred to be living on the EASTERN Side of the USACompany OverviewEngineering Search Firm is North America's leading professional recruitment firm, specializing in the placement of engineering and technical roles.
