They are seeking a Lead Civil Engineer – Solar to manage civil engineering design projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate on utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage civil engineering design projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination with clients and internal design teamsProvide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Review designs for high quality, support engineers through challenging problem solving, and drive standards across the departmentLead and manage the execution of team and department initiatives to support the continuous improvement of our tools and processesApply current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks, supporting other civil, structural, and electrical design workflows as necessaryDevelop comprehensive plans, specifications, and observation reports that are accurate and in accordance with sound utility-scale solar engineering practicesRecommend alterations to development criteria and design features to improve quality and project outcomesPlan and accomplish project goals by leveraging experience and judgmentReview and check design computations performed by the internal civil design team to ensure accuracy and compliancePrepare detailed reports and correspondence concerning the direction and progress of assigned projectsReview plans and specifications for constructability, safety, and risk management considerationsMaintain a value engineering mindset throughout the development, design, and construction phasesCollaborate closely with business and engineering staff across multiple markets and technical disciplinesWork closely with clients to understand their technical needs and identify the best feasible solutionsSupport marketing, sales, and business development activities within the assigned marketDemonstrate a high degree of creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and design ownershipSkillsB.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is requiredCivil Professional Engineer (PE) registration requiredMinimum of 8-10+ years of civil engineering experience is requiredAt least 5+ years of experience in design and development of utility scale solar, preferredProficient at large scale solar grading design and earthwork calculations is requiredProven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)Must have permanent authorization to work in USNCEES Council Record is preferredExperience performing detailed design of solar facilities with complex topographic, environmental, and non-participating infrastructure constraints is highly desiredStormwater management and permitting experience is highly desiredExperience developing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCC) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) preferredDemonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferredBenefitsFlexible WorkplaceEmployee OwnershipCompetitive PayComprehensive Benefits PackageCollaborative EnvironmentInnovative CultureCompany OverviewUlteig is a civil engineering company that offers engineering, surveying, and consulting services.
