Our Security and Legal Information Engineering team is at the forefront of building adaptable data management and extraction structures that enable us to maintain the highest standards of data protection and cleanliness. We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us expand our capacity to build strong, flexible, protection-driven data structures. As part of this team, you'll work with various data technologies like Flash, Voila, Flink, Kafka, and others to build fast, flexible, and powerful data pipelines; write ETL tasks to collect and aggregate data; and design top-notch data structures that enable proper handling of user personal data.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer on our Privacy team, you'll be responsible for:


Designing and implementing effective, flexible, and adaptable data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
Developing a deep understanding of the data ecosystem at arenaflex from a data protection perspective
Collaborating with our data protection teams to understand product objectives and provide data that enables us to respond to user and regulatory data requests
Maintaining and reevaluating existing datasets and pipelines
Working with a talented team of data engineers who are passionate about improving our data protection practices and mitigating legal and regulatory risks


Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:


At least 2 years of experience in programming and data engineering, with a strong background in one of Java, Python, or Scala
Excellent skills in advanced SQL
Experience in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
Ability to take requirements and implement flexible data models and pipelines
Passion for data protection and a strong understanding of data privacy regulations and guidelines


Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications would be a plus:


Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools
Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
