[Remote] IT Network Engineer

They are seeking an IT Network Engineer responsible for the administration, deployment, monitoring, and support of IT systems, including network infrastructure and telephony systems.ResponsibilitiesAdminister, maintain and support the Agency’s data, voice & security systems infrastructure, including the Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), all servers, PCs, switches, routers, printers and miscellaneous peripheral equipment; make recommendations for future hardware or software additions or enhancementsMaximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimizationSecure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring accessUpdate job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsReport network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, managing projectsMonitor problem/change activities and coordinates involvement of technical and staff and vendors to ensure effective implementation of new or enhanced systems and resolution of user problemsSkillsHigh School Diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in server operating system (Microsoft Server, Linux) or hardware administration, TCP/IP Networking (Routing / Switching / Subnets / Masks / Vlans), DHCP / DNS. Requires certification. Applicable certification(s) may be substituted to equivalent degree and experience requirementsAssociate's degree and minimum one (1) year of experience in server operating system (Microsoft Server, Linux) or hardware administration, TCP/IP Networking (Routing / Switching / Subnets / Masks / Vlans), DHCP / DNS.
