[Remote] High School Biology Curriculum Writer Consultant

The role involves designing full-course curricula for high school STEM subjects, developing instructional materials, and ensuring alignment with educational standards.
Responsibilities
β’ Design full-course curricula for high school STEM subjects (e.g., Principles of Biology, AP Biology), including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans
β’ Develop high-quality instructional materials, including:
β’ Student-facing lessons and problem sets
β’ Labs, projects, and real-world applications
β’ High-quality homework aligned with the course
β’ Formative and summative assessments with clear success criteria
β’ Ensure alignment to New York State standards and Zetaβs academic vision and outcomes
β’ Embed inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, and opportunities for analytical thinking and problem-solving
β’ Design assessments that measure both content mastery and application of skills
β’ Collaborate closely with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and other curriculum writers to ensure coherence across courses and grade levels
β’ Use feedback from educators and student performance data to iterate and improve curriculum materials
Skills
β’ Bachelor's degree in Biology
β’ At least three years of experience with a proven record of developing rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum that drives strong student outcomes
β’ Master's degree
