This hands-on role involves performing engineering studies for electrical distribution systems, evaluating protective device ratings, and communicating directly with clients regarding project status and results.ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering studies for electrical distribution systems. This includes short-circuit studies, coordination studies, arc flash hazard analyses, load flow analyses and motor starting studiesEvaluate protective device ratings, develop time-current coordination plots to optimize overcurrent settings for circuit breakers and/or relays, and calculate incident energy levels at equipment locationsProvide recommendations to improve system reliability and/or help end users work more safelyReview specifications, customer drawings, and technical proposalsCommunicate directly with clients regarding project status, results, and future needsCollaborate with senior engineers to help scale and improve the delivery of our solutionsResponsible for performing technical work, managing projects, and other related tasks as directed by the Company’s CEO or his designeeContribute individually and as part of a team to nationwide power system study projectsSkillsA Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering2+ years of experience in an electrical engineering roleExperience or academic exposure to power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash)Proficiency with any of the following software: SKM/ETAP/EasyPowerStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter mindset: organized, dependable, and eager to learnBenefitsComprehensive benefits: Enjoy excellent health, dental, 401K, bonus, paid vacation, and more.Career development: Receive mentorship from proven industry leaders and support for personal growth, including a pathway toward your Professional Engineer (PE) license.Company OverviewPioneer Power Group provides electrical power system studies for customers across the entire United States.
