[Remote] Director of Engineering (AI Adoption)

They are seeking a Director of Engineering (AI Adoption) to lead the strategy, development, and adoption of artificial intelligence initiatives both externally in their products and internally across the organization.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute a company-wide AI strategy aligned with Veryon’s business objectivesPartner with ELT and SLT to identify, prioritize, and roadmap AI initiatives across all departmentsPartner with Security and Compliance teams to grow and ensure adherence of Veryon’s AI governance, best practices, and responsible AI usageDrive organization-wide AI adoption, including training and change management initiativesIdentify and deliver measurable business value through AI-driven efficiencies and insightsLead the integration of AI capabilities across Veryon’s product suiteDefine and execute the roadmap for evolving products into agentic, decision-capable systemsCollaborate with Product and Engineering teams to prioritize and deliver AI-driven featuresEnsure scalable & reliable deployment of AI/ML models in production environmentsEvaluate and incorporate emerging AI technologies into the product strategyBuild, lead, and mentor high-performing AI/ML engineering teamsDrive cross-functional collaboration across all departments of Veryon including technology, product, sales, marketing, customer support, customer success, people operations and financeOversee the full lifecycle of AI solutions (design, development, deployment, optimization)Establish KPIs to measure AI impact, adoption, and ROIManage partnerships with external vendors and AI technology providersBuild lasting relationships with large enterprise customers such as commercial aviation operators and OEMsApply aviation expertise to ensure AI solutions are operationally relevant and compliantIdentify opportunities to enhance maintenance, diagnostics, and operational performanceAlign AI initiatives with aviation standards, safety, and regulatory requirementsSkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fieldEngineering leadership experience with a strong focus on AI/ML initiativesProven track record of implementing AI solutions across multiple business functionsDeep expertise in Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Machine LearningExperience building and scaling AI-enabled products in production environmentsStrong understanding of data platforms, architectures, and MLOps practicesDemonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead organizational changeAviation industry experience or strong domain knowledgeExperience building aviation maintenance software solutions and familiarity with industry leading aviation maintenance technology ecosystemsExperience designing or implementing agentic systems or autonomous workflowsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudStrong business acumen with the ability to connect AI initiatives to measurable outcomesExcellent communication skills, including translating complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholdersCompany OverviewVeryon is a provider of information services and software solutions for the aviation industry.
