This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Corporate Counsel, Claims Litigation. In this role, you will manage and oversee litigation related to insurance operations, focusing on first-party property claims. Your expertise will ensure that strategic legal advice is provided to claims leadership while also managing outside counsel effectively. You will be crucial in addressing significant legal matters and driving resolutions to complex issues, ultimately safeguarding our partner's interests in a dynamic environment. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our claims processes.

Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage litigation involving first-party property claims and related areas.
• Manage outside counsel, enforce guidelines, and ensure adherence to budgets.
• Directly handle select disputes and oversee discovery strategy.
• Monitor litigation trends, legal risks, and provide regular reporting to leadership.
• Advise senior leadership on legal risks and develop litigation strategies.
• Proactively analyze changes in laws and advise organizational leadership.

Requirements
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Texas Bar license.
• 8+ years of litigation experience in law firms, government, or in-house.
• Experience in bad faith or extra-contractual litigation against insurers.
• Trial and/or appellate experience as 1st or 2nd chair.
• Effective management of outside counsel.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with claims operations.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex legal concepts.
• Collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
