[Remote] Associate Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. alooola is a wealth management app for medical professionals, and they are seeking an Associate Software Engineer to contribute to product development from day one. The role involves building features, debugging, and working across the tech stack with guidance from the VP of Engineering. Responsibilities Building components for our spending experience redesign Implementing features for our referral system Contributing to joint accounts integration Writing tests and improving coverage Own features from implementation through shipping, with guidance on requirements and architecture Work across the stack: React Native/TypeScript on mobile, Node.js/Express/Postgres on the backend Use AI tools (Claude, GPT, etc.) as part of your normal workflow Pair with the VP of Engineering on complex problems Debug, fix, monitor, support Learn fast by doing real work on a production app with hundreds and thousands of users Skills Recent CS graduate (2024-2025) Solid React or React Native fundamentals (you understand components, state, props, hooks) Backend experience with Node.js, Python, or similar (APIs, databases, basic data modeling) The ability to pick up new tools and frameworks quickly Comfort using AI tools as a productivity multiplier, not a replacement for understanding Want ownership, not hand-holding Bias toward action over analysis paralysis Care about the user experience, not just making tests pass Communicate often and informally Are persistent when things break Internship experience at a tech company or startup Personal projects deployed to production (App Store, web app, anything real) Fintech curiosity or experience Mobile development experience Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD, or infrastructure basics Benefits Medical: Fully covered 401k: Matching after 1 year PTO: Unlimited Equipment: Laptop provided Growth: Clear path to Senior Software Engineer and beyond Company Overview Welcome to alooola®, the new wave of financial advising.
