[Remote] Area Sales Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Winpak is seeking an Area Sales Manager based in California, USA (Remote Position) to support our Protein West Sales Team. The role involves building relationships and sourcing new packaging business at protein prospects while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and effective management of orders and timelines.ResponsibilitiesEnsure customer satisfaction by effectively managing changes in order requirements, timelines, and product specifications within a dynamic industryPrepare and process customer orders to ensure products are produced and shipped according to customer expectationsMaintain pricing consistency in line with published guidelines or customer quotationsCollaborate with the Winpak Graphics Department to provide relevant information for customer graphic requestsObtain approval for any deviations from standard terms before accepting customer ordersManage territory inventory in compliance with company policies and special agreementsAssist in the collection of receivables and ensure accurate and timely completion of expense reportsCommunicate changes in orders or requirements, such as lead times, product changes, or order size, to both customers and head officeAddress customer complaints promptly and coordinate corrective action with the appropriate personnelTravel as necessary within the assigned territory to maximize sales opportunities, provide sales forecasts, and attend trade shows and seminars, while maintaining adherence to budget and company policiesSkills5+ years of experience in a role that required you to identify and pursue sales opportunities, close deals, and meet or exceed sales targets5+ years of experience building long-term client relationships in a business-to-business (B2B) environment5+ years of experience in a role that required cultivating and nurturing client relationships, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions3+ years of experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track sales activity, customer interactions, and sales pipelineDemonstrated knowledge of resin materials, with the ability to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses for different applicationsThorough understanding of thermoforming and various plastic manufacturing processesBachelor's Degree in a related field, with a preference for Business, Marketing, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of experience in the packaging industry, with a preference for supporting perishable food products3+ years of experience collaborating with internal teams (e.g., production, logistics, sales support) to deliver the best outcomes for clientsBenefitsMedical, dental, vision & prescription coverageTravel coverageDisability coverageVoluntary life insuranceLife and accidental death & dismemberment insuranceTuition assistance programRetirement savings plansA comprehensive employee and family assistance program which includes short term counselling, wellbeing coaching, financial and legal consultations services.Company OverviewWinpak is a global packaging group with ten manufacturing facilities platform.
