The role involves driving growth, building client relationships, and delivering sustainability and decarbonization solutions to clients.ResponsibilitiesDrive growth by expanding NORESCO’s market share in Colorado and the surrounding regionLead client engagement – maintaining strong relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and serving as a critical component of our long-term successAcquire new clients and grow existing accounts, leveraging NORESCO’s technical expertise to identify, sell and promote sustainability and decarbonization solutionsCollaborate with internal experts to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that solve complex client challengesDevelop and manage a qualified sales pipeline while maintaining key accounts and clearly articulating the value of NORESCO’s solutions and service offeringsBuild deep client understanding – including organizational structure, processes, strategies, and decision-making dynamics – to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunitiesCreate and execute winning strategies for proposals and solicitations, adjusting as needed to secure new businessApply sound business judgment to evaluate opportunities, balancing risk and reward when qualifying or disqualifying prospectsGuide clients through the buying process, offering tailored solutions that help them meet energy and decarbonization policies, goals, and standardsCollaborate with management and technical teams to pursue new projects, enhance existing relationships, and develop business development strategies for market expansionEngage with NORESCO leadership to shape pursuit strategies, client messaging, and relationship mappingCommunicate opportunity status and next steps to the sales team, highlighting risks and ensuring alignment during regular meetingsIncrease market awareness among existing and prospective clients through proactive outreach and engagementMonitor industry trends and gather market intelligence on clients and competitors to inform strategyLeverage competitive insights to create compelling reasons for clients to choose NORESCOMaintain visibility in industry associations and community organizations, representing NORESCO as a thought leaderUtilize NORESCO’s CRM to track opportunities and manage client interactions effectivelyProvide executive-level briefings on strategic matters impacting sales opportunitiesDevelop proactive account plans and opportunity strategies, including pricing discussions and decisionsBuild strong relationships with client and partner organization leaders, ensuring long-term collaborationManage accounts post-sale, maintaining client satisfaction and driving additional business to meet evolving needsSkillsHigh School Diploma or GED5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or consulting within a professional services or energy engineering firm; OR 5+ years of technical engineering experience within an energy engineering firm, with demonstrated ability to transition into a client-facing roleBachelor's Degree highly preferredProven ability to engage with a wide range of senior-level stakeholders, both internally and within client organizationStrong knowledge of market trends, state and local ordinances/laws (e.g. Energize Denver, Building Performance Colorado, etc.), and utility incentive programsAbility to analyze and provide strategic feedback on competitive intelligence, customer expectations and industry trends to inform sales decisions for sustainability servicesCollaborative approach to working with facility staff, executive leadership, sales and business development teams, and technical subject matter experts, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiencesSkilled in developing and delivering technical and non-technical presentations for public-facing events, including tradeshows and industry association meetingsExceptional public speaking, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and professionally in both verbal and written formatsBenefitsShort-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.Health Care Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision; Wellness incentivesRetirement BenefitsTime off and Leave: Paid vacation days, up to 15 days; paid sick days, up to 5 days; paid personal leave, up to 5 days; paid holidays, up to 13 days; birth and adoption leave; parental leave; family and medical leave; bereavement leave; jury duty leave; military leave; purchased vacationDisability: Short-term and long-term disabilityLife Insurance and Accidental Death and DismembermentTax-Advantaged Accounts: Health Savings Account; Health Care Spending Account; Dependent Care Spending AccountTuition AssistanceCompany OverviewCarrier is the provider of intelligent climate and energy solutions.
