Job Summary

The Quality Control Standards Data Analyst will assist in utilizing data to develop, present, and make recommendations for novel ideas and initiatives, as well as perform critical analysis to mitigate the risk of non-compliance through process improvements. These improvements will support Organization goals, including maintaining low costs, modernizing the operation, and improving compliance, thereby providing a competitive advantage to Southwest Airlines.

Key Responsibilities


Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team in timely data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data elements.
Assist in developing and communicating results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical Clients and Leaders.
Help analyze critical ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging support issues and provide insightful answers to allow Senior Leadership to make business decisions while balancing existing project commitments.
Present insights, trends, and potential recommendations by utilizing data visualization tools supporting the relevant points of the analysis to ease stakeholder understanding.
Assist in developing and disseminating specific queries to pull and organize data from various sources, establishing the rhythm, and validating the need of the data requirements.
Identify anomalies in processes through reviews/audits and communicate findings to the Team.
Assess effectiveness of processes and procedures by monitoring for trends and errors.
Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision.
May perform other work obligations as directed by Team Lead.


Requirements

Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Ability to gather, organize, and analyze critical amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively listen to, understand, and convey ideas in writing, verbally, or through presentations delivered to groups of varying audiences.
Ability to survey business issues, identify opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Preferred Qualifications


Experience with data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase.
Ability to utilize PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications.
Prior internship, capstone projects, and analysis coursework.
Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively and be an independent thinker.
Past internship experience in a related field.
Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information properly.
Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
