Title:

Software Developer-Python

Responsibilities:

• Consulting role Involves two primary functions: Software Engineering and General Project Support.

• Software engineering portion involves designing, implementing, and delivering IoT software solutions primarily using Python, with potential opportunities for other programming languages such as Java, C#, etc.

• Project support consultation involves helping client to improve existing solution. Need to be able to lead an existing team through transformation by providing technical leadership including constructive code reviews, design guidance, and mentorship to team members

• Serve as the liaison between the software development team and the DevOps team(s) while handling various problems, refining pipelines, and addressing various security flaws that pop up across projects.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience with systems architecture including data modeling, performance monitoring/tuning

• Experience with common Python technologies and frameworks

• Experience with additional programming languages and related tools including Java, C#, etc.

• Experience with common database design, technologies, and frameworks

• Experience with common deployment strategies, pipeline, infrastructure technologies

• Experience writing extensive integration, end-to-end, and unit test suites

• Experience with web technology stacks

• Experience with code versioning and deployment pipelines

• Experience using cloud services (i.e. Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure)

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering preferred

• 5+ years of experience developing applications in Python and additional languages

• Experience with API-oriented design (i.e. REST, GraphQL, etc.)

• Experience with relational databases, design, optimization, and ORM tools such as SQLAlchemy

• Experience gathering and clarifying requirements from different organizations

• Knowledge of Agile Methodology and CI/CD process

• Willing to work in US Eastern or Central timezones

Desired:

• Experience with data science domain, tools and processes (including NumPy, Pandas, etc.)

• Experience developing software for automation control or robotics

• Experience in the warehousing, transportation and logistics industries

• Experience developing highly available and resilient software

• Experience with Postgres and Liquibase

• Experience with dependency-injection frameworks such as HK2

• Familiarity with Typescript, Node.js and React is a plus

• The annual salary for this position is between $92K - $105K + COLA+ Bonus depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
