MDS Director

Remote Full-time
Description Cascadia Healthcare is seeking an experienced and visionary MDS Director to provide enterprise-wide leadership and oversight of our Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process across all facilities. This pivotal role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, optimizes reimbursement opportunities, and drives quality improvement through consistent, standardized practices. The MDS Director will act as the organization’s foremost subject matter expert in MDS, guiding regional and facility-level MDS teams toward excellence in regulatory compliance, clinical accuracy, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Oversight: Direct and standardize MDS processes across all Cascadia facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluation for Regional and Facility MDS Coordinators. • Quality & Compliance: Oversee the MDS component of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs, preparing facilities for survey readiness and regulatory success. • Financial Stewardship: Analyze and monitor case mix, PPS, and PDPM data company-wide to ensure appropriate reimbursement aligned with clinical documentation. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, clinical, and finance teams to align MDS performance with Five Star ratings, QRP data submission, and organizational goals. The MDS Director plays a critical role in shaping the quality of care we deliver, mentoring future leaders, and ensuring our facilities exceed both regulatory expectations and resident satisfaction.
