### Role Overview

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be instrumental in helping students facing communication challenges. Your focus will be on identifying these challenges, tailoring treatment plans, and implementing strategies to foster student success.

### Key Responsibilities
• *Assessment**
• Evaluate communication skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, and both expressive and receptive language, to identify disorders and determine eligibility for services.
• *Collaboration**
• Work with parents, teachers, healthcare providers, and other professionals to share insights, address concerns, and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• *Coordination**
• Organize and lead meetings for eligible students, including assessments and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), to discuss findings and develop treatment plans.
• *Treatment Planning**
• Develop individualized treatment plans and educational materials to assist students in overcoming communication disorders, adhering to regulatory standards.
• *Instruction**
• Provide guidance to support staff on communication disorders and assistive technologies for the effective implementation of treatment plans.
• *Technology Integration**
• Instruct students on the use of communication technologies, enhancing their educational experience.
• *Report Interpretation**
• Analyze medical reports to ensure alignment of treatment plans with students' needs.
• *Record Keeping**
• Maintain accurate records, including progress reports and treatment documentation for compliance purposes.
• *Professional Development**
• Engage in meetings and workshops to enhance professional skills and stay informed.
• *Site Visits**
• Conduct home visits and therapy sessions at various locations to deliver personalized intervention.
• *Documentation**
• Prepare written materials to effectively communicate activities and findings with stakeholders.
• *Resource Research**
• Investigate interventions and best practices to address students' needs effectively.
• *Inquiries**
• Respond to questions from parents, staff, and students to provide relevant information and referrals.
• *Equipment Management**
• Transport necessary supplies and equipment to various locations for accessibility.

### Education & Experience
• A Master's degree (or higher) in Speech and Communicative Disorders is required.

### Licensing Requirements
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Arizona Department of Education Speech-Language Certification
• ASHA Certification
• DHS Certification

### Knowledge & Skills
• In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology related to speech and hearing.
• Proficient in speech and language therapy principles, practices, and relevant regulations.
• Ability to perform complex tasks and adapt to changing conditions.
• Competent in using assessment instruments and specialized equipment for communication disorders.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate documentation.

• Utilize specialized equipment for communication disorders while maintaining confidentiality.

### Physical Requirements
• The role may involve activities such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Medium work is expected, potentially requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently.
• Incumbents may encounter various work conditions, including mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, and high noise levels.
