Manager, UL Certification and Compliance

Job Description: • Serve as the company-wide owner of the UL relationship, acting as the primary liaison between Giga Energy and UL across all product lines and business units • Maintain existing UL certifications for oil-filled transformers and low-voltage switchgear, ensuring continued compliance, timely renewals, and smooth audit processes • Lead the end-to-end certification process for new product lines — scoping applicable standards, opening cases, preparing documentation, coordinating testing, managing timelines, and driving projects through to listing • Develop and maintain internal processes and playbooks for UL certification so the company can scale its product portfolio without bottlenecks • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations to ensure designs meet UL requirements early in the development cycle, not after the fact • Track and communicate changes to UL standards, policies, and procedures that may affect current or planned certifications • Manage UL-related budgets, timelines, and reporting to leadership Requirements: • 7+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing UL certification cases, factory inspections, follow-up services, and the UL listing process • Deep familiarity with UL standards relevant to electrical infrastructure, including UL 1562, UL 891, and UL 1558 • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading new products through the UL certification process from initial application through final listing • Existing professional relationships with UL representatives and working knowledge of how the organization operates internally • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent certification efforts across different product categories • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field Benefits: • Giga is an equal opportunity employer • Reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities
