Job title : Kafka Consulting Architect Location : Richardson, TX(Remote) Type : W2 Contract Minimum years of experience: 10+ years Section B: Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Confluent Kafka Consulting Engineer/Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, distributed event streaming solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the Event Streaming domain and adjacent technologies, with a strong ability to architect complex systems and mentor teams. Key Responsibilities: Architect and design distributed systems with integrated Confluent Kafka components. Lead customer engagements across the Data In Motion Blueprint (DIMB), aligning Professional Services impact across each layer. Assess and optimize customer Confluent environments against best practices. Apply advanced concepts such as Data Mesh and Central Nervous System in solution design. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Kafka and 2–3 adjacent technologies (Cloud, Security, Data Ecosystems). Ensure alignment with Technical Well-Architected Pillars. Mentor and support junior architects and engineers. Take ownership of project challenges and drive them to resolution. Required Skills & Experience: Proven expertise in Event Streaming architectures and Kafka ecosystem. Strong understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns. Experience with Confluent Use Cases and platform optimization. Hands-on knowledge of adjacent technologies: Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data security, and data platforms. Demonstrated ability to lead technical conversations and influence architecture decisions. Track record of mentoring and team leadership.
