We are a professional, friendly and welcoming team who together provide a full range of HR and Payroll services across the Department for Transport (DfT). Our activity plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of Unity Business Services strategic objectives and keeps frontline operations working effectively.The HR & Payroll Operations team lead role provides services for DfT and is based in Swansea. Reporting to the HR & Payroll Operations Manager (UBS DfT), you'll be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of the DfT HR & Payroll Operations Services functions supporting DfT. You'll work alongside the DfT HR & Payroll Operational team where you will be expected to lead and participate in a team culture which identifies, communicates and addresses customer's needs and supports the UBS Shared Services vision and values.Job descriptionIn this role, you'll be responsible for supporting both HR and Payroll. You will lead a small team and be responsible for one of our customers or key process areas and ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are achieved whilst maintaining quality standards and providing a customer-focused service. You'll be overseeing daily operations, monitoring workloads, and acting as the first point of escalation for complex queries. The Team Lead ensures compliance with data protection regulations, maintains process documentation, and develops team capability through coaching and training. Additional responsibilities include managing payroll-related activities and third-party interfaces, as well as contributing to site-wide success and collaborative initiatives.Person specificationKey Responsibilities:
