South College seeks applicants who are knowledgeable about the following subject matter: • General Chemistry I & II (lectures and laboratories) Course content encompasses the fundamental concepts and principles of general chemistry which include, but are not limited to, the following topics: • The study of the behavior of gases • Types of solutions • Chemical reactions and reaction rates • Nomenclature of chemical compounds • Nuclear chemistry • Thermodynamic processes and thermochemistry • Quantum mechanics and atomic structure • Chemical bonding The laboratory courses have been designed to be taken concurrently with, and to supplement the subject matter covered in the lectures. Virtual or at-home assignments have been integrated into the laboratory courses. The lectures and laboratories have separate course codes but together constitute a single course for teaching load (i.e. one General Chemistry I Lecture and one General Chemistry I Laboratory count as one course). Requirements • A minimum of an acceptable master’s degree in the specific subject matter field (doctorate preferred) or an earned master’s or doctoral degree and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester hours in subject matter field • Experience teaching similar courses at a higher education institute • Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online Apply tot his job
