Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will assist in the daily accounting cycle working with the AR Accountant to ensure the fiscal and operational continuity and efficiency of groninger USA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable – code and enter all invoices for overhead, jobs, service, and intercompany payments
• Prepare weekly pay runs (ACH, wire, and check payments)
• Monthly Journal Entries – accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, bank fees
• Participate in monthly financial close meeting and provide variance analysis pertaining to costs
• Apply customer payments in SAP. Coordinate with the AR accountant regarding discrepancies in payments.
• Process employee expense reports via SAP Concur
• Support annual audit requests
• Manage multiple tasks at one time with a strong attention to detail
• Effectively communicate across organizational lines (field service, procurement, logistics, etc.)
• Perform work with accuracy in Finance (SAP B1) and ERP systems (PSI Penta)
• Review and reconcile completed work by verifying entries and comparing system entries and balances
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies between systems
• Test functional area work flows when new systems are implemented or system changes are made
• Other accounting duties as assigned by the Controller
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Preferred Work Experience & Skills:
• Previous accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with General Accounting, Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable (Sales Support or Purchasing experience a plus)
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) and competent data entry skills
• Must have operational and/or accounting ERP experience (SAP experience plus)
• Effective time management and ability to maintain focus on daily activities
• Engaged in the success of the business - inquisitive and interested in process improvement
Education:
• College degree in Accounting
