Freelance Desktop Publisher
We have an opening for an experienced Freelance Desktop Publisher. This is a part time position with a schedule of afternoon/evening hours.
Join our team of committed and hardworking specialists in our deadline-driven publishing group. We take pride in working collaboratively to create the best print and online training materials in the business for our Fortune 500 clients.
Responsibilities:
⢠Assist busy publishing group in all phases of content development and production
⢠Rapidly gain understanding of our processes, contributing your ideas and approaches as appropriate
⢠Join project teams to tackle fast-moving projects, adhering to daily deadlines and schedules, creating high-quality products in a variety of applications on a PC
⢠Submit your work to editors for proofreading, and carry their comments through each piece in an accurate and consistent manner
⢠Apply your attention to detail to ensure consistency across multi-component learning solutions
⢠Engage directly with our medical writers, project managers, medical illustrators, animators, and programmers to ensure timely delivery of content
⢠Leverage your experience as you combine strong content presentation with an awareness of time and budgetary constraints
Required Experience & Qualifications:
⢠Proven strength in major word processing, layout, and presentation applications, including: MS Word, InDesign, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and Articulate
⢠Strong knowledge of styles and templates (most of our work is customized to fit client needs)
⢠Knowledge of color, prepress, fonts, and other elements that contribute to successful delivery of print-ready materials to vendors
⢠Excellent grammar and spelling skills as well as familiarity with proofreading marks
⢠Ability to take on multiple projects, shift gears, and problem-solve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
⢠Strong communication and time management skills
