Job Summary The Data Science Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, processes, and frameworks to integrate and analyze various data sets, including structured and unstructured data. This role will involve leading teams, overseeing project executions, and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively in accordance with strategic plans. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical programming, and team leadership, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Develops and implements strategies, processes, and frameworks to integrate and analyze various data sets, including structured and unstructured data. Leads teams assigned to projects and oversees project executions, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively in accordance with strategic plans. Creates programming programs, algorithms, dashboards, data tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate, and evaluate datasets. Stays up-to-date with new scientific techniques and technologies, and applies this knowledge to drive business solutions and direction. Collaborates with functional specialty units to drive business solutions and direction, and establishes credibility with partners while managing expectations. Communicates effectively with colleagues and partners to define expectations and set boundaries, and ensures regular, consistent, and effective communication through formal and informal channels. May develop and manage budgets for functional areas, and ensures that financial plans are aligned with business objectives and goals. Allocates available resources to meet working targets, and creates and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training, and development opportunities, and performance management processes. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline. Experience with analytical and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, and others to perform analysis and interpret data. In-depth knowledge of SQL and open-source data science and statistics packages such as Python, R, Spark, and others. Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, customers, and vendors) partners to develop strategies that meet office objectives within budget and timelines. At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline. Experience communicating at the executive level. Experience leading cross-functional teams.
