Job Overview and Responsibilities The Actuarial Development Program at blithequark is a comprehensive and structured program designed to support the growth and development of aspiring actuaries. As an Actuarial Development Program Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop a deep understanding of the actuarial field. Your key responsibilities will include: Risk Evaluation: Analyzing and understanding specific risks, and presenting findings to management Rate Filing: Ordering and analyzing filing data, preparing and submitting essential presentations for regulatory filings Reserve Analysis: Analyzing claim data, monitoring reserve levels, and demonstrating an understanding of actuarial reserving methods and issues Planning and Budgeting: Providing technical support and analysis for planning, pricing, and reporting processes Pricing, Trend, and Benefit Design: Developing and recommending pricing and trend for products or benefits Technical Capability: Developing innovative technical solutions to complex problems, and demonstrating proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and online applications Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or economics Willingness to relocate to a designated Actuarial hub Preferred qualifications include: Internship or work experience supporting Actuarial functions of an organization or group Demonstrated leadership experience, such as active roles in student or social organization activities, or sports Strong written communication skills Experience with statistical or coding software, such as SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to support collaboration and a positive team environment Adaptability and ability to quickly and effectively adjust to change Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills, including: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop innovative solutions Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and stakeholders Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the healthcare and financial services industries Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
