Editor/Reporter (VA - Remote)

About the position BridgeTower Media is seeking a remote Editor/Reporter based in Virginia to join their editorial team. The role involves producing insightful news coverage across various platforms, including digital and print. Responsibilities • Work with editorial team members, freelance contributors, and production team on producing insightful news coverage for audiences. • Participate in a multimedia newsroom providing essential niche content across platforms, including the website, email newsletters, social media, and print. • Edit, write, and post stories to ensure essential digital content daily. • Oversee production of print publication and assist in production of daily news website. • Assist with social media and newsletters. • Write for and edit print publication. • Generate story ideas for daily news, enterprise stories, and print stories. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or relevant work experience; law degree desired but not required. • 4+ years of experience in the news industry with editing, writing, and reporting experience. • Knowledge of legal news coverage and local legal community. • AP Stylebook knowledge. • Strong computer skills and digital news management, including but not limited to: Word, Microsoft Excel, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Reader and Acrobat, and internet research skills. • Excellent organizational skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Reliable home internet connection with minimum 50mbps up/10mbps down.
