Documentary Creative editor & Story Shaper
I am seeking an intermediate - experienced creative editor to help shape the story of a 45-60 minute documentary. This is not a technical edit where broll, motion graphics, audio editing, or even music is needed, just story shaping. I have 1/3 done and have a loose script/beats with clear themes. The project is sectioned into the different beats. What you need to do: - Structure interviews & scenes into a compelling story based on the script - Read interview transcripts and place according to script or your own creative direction (I am open to your input if that is in your scope) - Elevate pacing & clarity Responsibilities: - Review footage & provided material - Shape the documentary's narrative structure - Comfortable working from a loose script/outline - Clear communicator Deliverables: - Structured rough cut (45-60 min), if longer, that is okay and I can cut it down later - Keep the project file organized. Always use different sequence versions. - Optional: editor's notes on story decisions or input for when it is passed back to me Apply tot his job
