Responsibilities
• Verify and assess the credentials of healthcare providers to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Conduct thorough background checks to identify potential risks affecting patient safety
• Review requested privileges by healthcare providers, comparing them to education and training
• Monitor expiration dates of licenses and certifications, facilitating updates as needed
• Serve as a point of contact for credentialing inquiries and assist in report preparation
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience
• Valid National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) within two years of hire
• Experience in medical credentialing, healthcare administration, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or medical staff services
• Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory requirements in healthcare
• Proficient in credentialing databases and management software
