About the position

The Office Engineer position at Jacobs involves supporting heavy civil construction projects by managing documentation, contractor communications, and project reporting. The role requires a self-motivated individual with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar capacity, who is eager to grow professionally through hands-on involvement in construction projects.

Responsibilities
? Prepare and review payment applications and perform desk audits of contractor billings.

? Ensure proper documentation is received from contractors for all aspects of the contract.
,
? Prepare monthly reports and monitor contracts effectively.
,
? Prepare project meeting minutes and general correspondence.
,
? Track and distribute shop drawings.
,
? Notify contractors of new change orders and time and material work, ensuring daily tracking and signing of tickets.
,
? Document change order work and time and material work accurately on daily inspector's reports.
,
? Ensure regular construction photos are taken and properly filed.
,
? Attend technical meetings and CPM update meetings as required, providing input for monthly reports.
,
? Maintain documentation for contract closeout, including controlled inspections and substantial completion requirements.
,
? Track extra work, net cost work, and classified item work, ensuring thorough follow-through with contract closeouts.

Requirements
? Minimum of 1 year of experience as an office engineer in construction.
,
? Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
,
? Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
,
? Physical ability to move around an active construction site.
