Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountants Manager to support the delivery of highâquality accounts and tax services for clients within the media and creative industries. The role is handsâon and technically focused, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy practice environment and enjoys working with a varied portfolio of production companies, creatives, freelancers, and entertainment-sector clients.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all output. This is a key role within the accounts team, contributing to high service standards without taking on full managerial responsibility
Key Responsibilities
Client & Practice Management
Serve as a point of contact for client queries, offering clear and accurate advice relating to accounts work being prepared.
Solid technical knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102 1A and FRS 105
Manage workflow across your accounts work to ensure deadlines are met.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure consistent standards of service.
Support partners/directors with adâhoc tasks, reporting and client communications.
Contribute to internal process improvements to enhance efficiency and client delivery.
Accounts & Compliance
Prepare and review yearâend accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
Ensure bookkeeping accuracy, including reviewing ledgers and ensuring records reflect sectorâspecific transactions.
Taxation
Prepare corporation tax computations and returns alongside accounts.
Support senior management with tax planning and advisory work.
Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and statutory deadlines.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
5+ years experience working in an accountancy practice.
Strong understanding of accounts preparation and corporation tax.
Previous managerial experience.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable
ACA/ACCA/SAIPA/CA(SA) qualified or partâqualified (or equivalent experience).
Experience using cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
Solid technical knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102 1A and FRS 105
Experience working with media or creative industry clients
Ability to support business development or process improvement initiatives.
