Job DescriptionThe Workday HCM Principal Consultant serves as a senior functional leader responsible for driving the successful delivery of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. This role partners closely with clients to understand business objectives, lead solution design, and ensure alignment with Workday best practices while mentoring project teams and supporting overall delivery excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end Workday HCM implementations, from discovery through deployment and post-go-live supportServe as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding strategic decisions and aligning solutions to business needsDrive design sessions and workshops, translating requirements into scalable Workday configurationsEnsure adoption of Workday leading practices while minimizing unnecessary customizationOversee configuration across HCM functional areas (Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Benefits, etc.)Collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, Integrations, and Technical teamsProvide leadership and mentorship to functional consultants and project team membersSupport data conversion, testing strategy, and user acceptance activitiesIdentify risks, recommend solutions, and ensure timely resolution of issuesContribute to project planning, estimating, and scope managementSupport business development efforts, including demos, proposals, and client presentationsQualifications4+ years of experience in HR systems, with significant experience in Workday HCM implementationsActive Workday HCM partner certification(s) requiredProven experience leading full lifecycle Workday implementationsStrong knowledge of HCM business processes and best practicesExperience working with public sector or enterprise clients preferredExcellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred SkillsExperience with additional Workday modules (Recruiting, Talent, Benefits, Absence, Compensation)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience mentoring or leading project teamsWork EnvironmentPrimarily remote with occasional travel for key project milestonesCollaborative, client-facing role with cross-functional engagement
