Key Responsibilities
Conduct financial statement audits for venture capital-backed startups across multiple industries.
Review financial records, accounting systems, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and areas of improvement in accounting processes.
Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to internal stakeholders and startup management teams.
Assist startups in strengthening financial governance, documentation, and compliance frameworks.
Support due diligence processes for funding rounds, acquisitions, and investor reporting.
Collaborate with finance teams to improve financial accuracy, reporting efficiency, and internal audit readiness.
Stay updated with current accounting standards, audit methodologies, and startup financial trends.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure the integrity of all financial data reviewed during audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting software and audit tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting strict deadlines.
High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Experience
3–6 years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or financial advisory.
Experience auditing startups, venture-backed companies, or technology businesses is highly desirable.
Prior experience with remote teams, cloud accounting platforms, and digital audit tools will be an advantage.
Working Hours
Fully remote / work-from-home position.
Flexible schedule with standard professional working hours (approximately 40 hours per week).
Occasional availability may be required to align with international startup clients and investor schedules.
