We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Weekend Janitor to join our team at Mennonite Village, a premier not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community celebrating 75 years of supporting seniors in our community. As a Weekend Janitor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring a comfortable and healthy environment for our residents and staff.
Job Summary:
Work schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM
Perform essential janitorial duties, including dry mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and buffing floors
Maintain floor machines, order supplies, and record completed tasks
Collaborate with other departments to schedule tasks and ensure seamless operations
Adhere to safety protocols and follow Materials Safety Data Sheets for handling chemicals
Requirements:
Supportive of the Mennonite Home philosophy
Demonstrated knowledge of floor maintenance and equipment operation
Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and communicate effectively in English
Physical ability to push equipment weighing 80 pounds, stoop, bend, lift, and stand for long periods
Ability to work in varying temperatures and odors
